Outings to enjoy between April’s raindrops around Chicagoland
April showers bring… well, you know the saying. But if those showers don’t hold you back from going out to enjoy all the Chicago area has to offer, then here are some great ideas!
On April 6 in Oak Brook, the Mayslake Peabody Estate will play host to “All that Jazz,” as selected musicians from the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra perform jazz favorites.
The Morton Arboretum in Lisle will be the location for The Artist’s Trunk Show on April 8. Shop for greeting cards, canvases, matted prints, pillows, and more with designs by Rozanne Priebe of Elmhurst.
In need of a quick health check up? Head to Warrenville for the community Health & Wellness Fair on April 11. Hosted by the Warrenville Park District, there will be more than 50 vendors, as well as blood pressure checks and giveaways.
Downtown Naperville plays host to Hop Around the Shops on April 14 and 15. Celebrate Easter weekend and find sales on things for your wardrobe and home.
On April 27–30, Elmhurst College Theatre hosts the play “The Trojan Women,” which pulls together a combination of theatrical material — some borrowed, some invented — that will surely bring delight to fans of the Greek Tragedies.
Easter Brunch Locations
This year, Easter falls on April 16. If you are looking for an Easter buffet experience, here are some area choices: Chuck’s Southern Comfort Café in Darien will be seating for brunch until 3 p.m. (reservations are required). White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville’s Easter Brunch only requires reservations for parties of eight or more. Lastly, the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estate offers scrumptious breakfast and lunch items, including a seafood display.
