Easter is such a lovely time of year. As well as being a holiday celebration — filled with delicious treats and decorated with cute bunnies, chicks, and brightly colored eggs — it also signals the start of spring.
To help you plan your Easter celebration, we have gathered together some delicious Easter desserts, some as recipe links and others in video format, so you can choose what works best for you.
Dive in and get making and baking! We all deserve a little treat!
Easter Nest Torte
Let’s start by going big with this luxurious chocolate feast. This Easter Nest Torte would satisfy the biggest chocoholic and looks gorgeous as a centerpiece for the Easter table. The little eggs are the finishing touch, and you might find Grandpa and the Grandkids fighting over who gets the last one.
Easter Tray Bake Cake
Baking doesn’t need to be hard. This Easter tray bake recipe from Jane’s Patisserie is easy to put together in a limited amount of time or if you want to bake with kids. You don’t need any fancy equipment, and you don’t need to be an expert at cake decoration. Just bake, eat, and enjoy!
Hot Cross Buns
Hot cross buns can be enjoyed any time during the Easter season, although traditionally they are eaten on Good Friday. They are perfect if you just want a quick snack to keep you going through the day. The smell of the delicate spices and the taste of the fruit always take you right back to the Easter of your childhood. Watch this video from Food Wishes for the recipe.
Amazing Easter Cookies
These cookies look as good as they taste. If you are looking for a recipe where the finished bake looks beautiful so you can add them to gift baskets, then this is the one for you. Plus, kids will love these bunny, chick and, egg-themed designs. You can watch this decorating tutorial of Haniela’s on YouTube by clicking HERE.
If you want to try something from across the pond this Easter, then Simnel cake is your go-to recipe. This traditional fruit and marzipan coated cake is a British favorite. If you want a little break from chocolate this time of year then this is the perfect solution. We have found two recipes for you to try, one from Nigella Lawson and one on the BBC Good Food site.
Carrot Patch Cheesecake
What do bunnies love to eat at Easter? Why, carrots of course, as Peter Rabbit will confirm. And now you can join those bunnies with this delicious Carrot Patch Cheesecake from Delish. Not only is it a twist on a traditional Easter dessert, as it’s cheesecake based, but its decoration will make every family member smile.
This video from KraftsbyKatelyn is worth watching, even if it’s just for the chocolate- covered strawberries that actually look like carrots. There are also Rice Krispie treat pops and bunny-eared cupcakes. All would be perfect for a kid’s Easter party or for a family get-together.
Easter Egg Cake Pops
The fun of decorating these Easter Egg Cake Pops almost matches the enjoyment of eating them. You can go freestyle in terms of what you choose for decoration, pick your favorite sprinkles or candies and get as creative as you wish. You can find the recipe on The Spruce Eats by clicking HERE.
Easter Lamb Cake
This vintage recipe for an Easter Lamb Cake looks so good; you might not even want to cut into it. It’s the perfect centerpiece for an Easter celebration and kids and adults alike will absolutely love the little spring lamb. You can find the recipe on A Taste of Home by clicking HERE.
Easter Bunny Cupcakes
Last, but by no means least, are these Easter Bunny Cupcakes. These are super easy to make, look great as gifts, and are delicious to eat. Bunnies are always a hit at Easter and these cute little guys will simply make you smile. Head to Food.com for the recipe.
