Care & Comfort at Home for Seniors and Veterans, an in-home care provider located in Elmhurst, is proud to announce Suzette Conroy as the company’s new Nurse Supervisor.
Conroy is a licensed registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience. For 15 years, she worked in a hospital on the medical/surgical floor, specializing in orthopedics and neurosurgery. During that time, she spent 13 years as a charge nurse for that unit. She also spent three years doing pre-op, intra-op, and post-op work for a plastic surgeon. Most recently, she has worked the last two years in hospital-based home health.
Now as Nurse Supervisor for Care & Comfort at Home, Conroy is currently working on securing a home nursing license for the company. “Once we get that license,” Conroy explains, “I will be responsible for hiring, supervising, training, orienting, evaluating, and scheduling all registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and CNAs on staff.”
She also emphasized that she will ensure that all nursing services are provided safely and correctly, and with compassion, dignity, and respect for the client.
Her ultimate goal, she says, is to “establish a successful nursing department that delivers care to the elderly via well-trained competent nurses who truly care for their patients.”
In regards to her new position, Conroy says, “It has been an absolute pleasure to work for this company. [Owners] David and Carissa genuinely care about their clients, as well as their caregivers and office staff. It is really refreshing to work for a company like this.”
Conroy lives in Elmhurst with her three children — daughter Kailey, age 20, and sons Billy, age 17, and Nicky, age 16 — and their dog, Cinna, age two. She exercises at least five days a week, loves to travel, and enjoys relaxing in her backyard pool during the summer. But, she says, her “favorite thing in the world to do” is spending time with her family.
