COVID Continues

In between the COVID-19 pandemic and the political unrest, we are all pushing the edge of what our nerves can handle. Predictions are built and then, shortly thereafter, reduced to rubble. Not knowing about the future or even today is exhausting.

Living with uncertainty

My crystal ball got lost decades ago after my economics degree was humbled by this simple joke: Economists have correctly predicted 12 of the last 7 recessions.

We at Care & Comfort at Home deal with the very vulnerable and are acutely aware of our duties and calling. We cannot say that any client is 100 percent safe. Beware of those who tell you they can. Facing and accepting that the present circumstances are uncertain is a mature response to moving along with what we cannot control.

Choosing help for a better outcome

This is not to say we have no power to affect a better outcome. By using a long-standing, highly rated agency for your care needs, you improve your chances of successfully navigating your way until significant mitigation arrives. Too many seniors left on their own make poor decisions, such as going up stairs, trying to install a window air conditioner (yes, that has actually happened), going to the store, etc. Then there are the passive problems, like forgetting to take medication, leaving the front door open, or leaving the stove lit.

Years ago, I learned a very good sales closing technique. Get a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle.  Write the issue on top. Put the pros for taking action now on one side and the reasons for not acting on the other. Look at the two. Just listing the arguments side by side will help you decide. Should you decide you need care, please let us know. We can help!
