Fun activities this March in DuPage County

As our reasonably mild winter turns to thoughts of Spring, getting out to explore what DuPage County has to offer becomes an idea worth investigating. Here are some great ideas for the whole family to enjoy:

Back by popular demand, ladies of all ages will be going to Downtown Naperville for a full weekend of fashion, food, and fun to celebrate the style and colors of the season for Spring 2017! Gather your girlfriends, neighbors, mothers, daughters for a fun time on March 3–5.

If you don’t like to leave the pooch at home, head over to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle on March 4 for Dog Admission Day. Visitors can bring their dog with them to hike the Arboretum’s 16 miles of trails.

Glen Ellyn

On March 10, The High Kings — an Irish folk band — will be coming to Glen Ellyn at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage. Named Ireland’s “Folk Band of the Year,” The High Kings are extremely popular in both Ireland and the United States. They have recorded three studio albums and one live album, and they achieved platinum status with their first two albums.

Also at College of DuPage, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will be performing at the McAninch Arts Center on March 19.

On March 11 at the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church,  Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra presents Latin Sensations — a concert full of moving and vibrant rhythms and sounds.

Head on over to Fischer Farm in Bensenville on March 25–26 for the All Around House Quilt Show! All sorts of quilts — including many antiques — will be on display. The Fischer Farm barn will be full of quilts and other items (including books and patterns) for sale as well. If you would like to put one of your own quilts on display at the event, please contact Jonathan Sebastian: (630) 834-3152 or

March 25–26 will be very “rocky” at the DuPage County Fairgrounds: The Esconi Gem, Mineral and Fossil show will feature exhibits from Chicago’s own Field Museum of Natural History, the Lizzadro museum, and member collections. Other activities will include craft demonstrations, book sales, gem, jewelry, fossil and mineral dealers, as well as live and silent auctions featuring rare minerals and fossils.
