Autumn is in full swing now in the Denver area, and so are all the great fall activities Denver and the surround Denver suburbs have to offer. Here at Care & Comfort at Home, we like to list the ones that seniors will especially enjoy! So without further adieu, here are our suggestions for October 2019 Denver area activities for older adults.

 

 

 

Denver

Denver is the home of the Colorado Ballet, and from Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 13, you can enjoy its performance of the classic story Don Quixote. Full of dazzling costumes and dance, the plot presents the adventurous tales of the noble Don Quixote and his squire, Sancho Panza. Total running time is two hours, 20 minutes. Boulder

Handmade in Colorado is an annual festival (now in its 12th year) that promotes the uniqueness of arts and crafts created by independent artisans within Colorado. On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6, at Boulder’s Central Park, you can experience in person the beautiful, original handmade items and meet the talented artists behind the works. The event is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For more information about the event, click HERE!

Golden

Feeling a need to get back to nature? Take a break from city life by heading over to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. There you’ll find lots of things to see and do — you can fish, take a small hike, enjoy a picnic lunch, and watch the wildlife. Daily park passes are $7 to $9 per vehicle. Lakewood

If you love crafts, here’s something really fun and different — the Colorado Clash of the Crafters! Come check out the various handmade crafts for sale, and vote for your favorites! The crafters will be competing for your scores and have the ability to win over $1,500 in cash and prizes. Lone Tree

Come experience fall in a big way at the 2019 Schweiger Ranch Fall Festival! The event takes place at Schweiger Ranch on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Activities include hay wagon rides and tours of the ranch. Plus there will be live bluegrass music, food trucks, craft vendors, and a pumpkin patch! For more information, click HERE!
