Only Two Ways — Gratitude and Giving

There are really only two ways to lead a fulfilling life. They both spring from the same source. We must live in gratitude and in giving. The holiday just passed in November was about gratitude, and this season is about giving. They are interrelated and inseparable. If you live in one, you are most likely living in the other as well.

I am personally grateful for the giving nature our Caregivers and staff. So many go so far above and beyond expectations. One of the best representations of this spirit lies in a favorite Christmas carol, “In the Bleak Midwinter.”  The final verse to this sentimental hymn verifies the best gift of all, the gift that enriches the giver as well.

What can I give Him,

  Poor as I am?

If I were a shepherd

  I would bring a lamb,

If I were a wise man

  I would do my part,

Yet what I can I give Him,

  Give my heart.

God’s Peace to all!

Merry Christmas from all of us at Care & Comfort at Home!
