Real world caregiving

by David Hachmeister, Owner, Care & Comfort at Home for Seniors and Veterans

We here at Care and Comfort at Home for Seniors and Veterans have been intrigued by the multiple commercials on TV for various in-home care agencies. They usually portray a senior who looks at least somewhat attractive and competent with a very attractive caregiver. Many times, the two are sharing a meal, playing cards, or, in at least one instance, even gardening.

Dealing with true life

These light activities and their overall general pleasantness represent the way we would like things to be. Sometimes they are, but most of the time, the reality is much more difficult to cope with than what these TV commercials convey. Many of you are contacting us to provide much more than just a cup of tea and a game of canasta. You have been quietly doing the heavy lifting of eldercare and have come to grips with the need for more help.

Keeping it real

We can do all the easy stuff, but the care providers at Care and Comfort at Home are trained to do so much more. We offer more than 350 hours of training for each care provider so that they can do the hard stuff. They can do transfers from bed to wheelchair. They can deal with bathroom issues that can be so awkward for a family member. Some have been trained to cook for special diets. (See more about our services by clicking HERE!)

Our management team works very hard to match the right caregiver skills to each client, so that the client’s needs will be completely and correctly fulfilled. (Learn more about us by clicking HERE!)

Real help for real life

Don’t be fooled by the glossy images and easy demeanor that you find in the TV commercials. We know there is much more work involved, and we have the skills and experience to provide it. We know what you know — that caring for seniors the right way takes a special heart and dedication to the real work involved.
