Surprise Visit from State Senator Pettersen Provides 500 Surgical Masks for Care & Comfort at Home Caregivers during COVID-19

Care & Comfort at Home management receives masks from Senator Petersen.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, Care & Comfort at Home — an in-home care agency for seniors and veterans in Lakewood, Colorado — received a surprise visit from Colorado State Senator Brittany Pettersen. The Senator stopped by to graciously drop off always-needed personal protection equipment (commonly referred to as “PPE”), in the form of approximately 500 surgical masks.

According to Senator Pettersen’s Legislative Aide Lisl Davies, the Senator has prioritized supporting her community of Colorado Senate District 22 through COVID-19. In demonstration of that support, the Senator has been dropping off PPE supplies to various assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and mental health facilities in the area since the beginning of the pandemic.

Additionally, the Senator has reached out to individual constituents and businesses through calling and texting campaigns, to provide information and help to anyone in need. Together with her staff, the Senator has helped members of the community resolve problems with unemployment claims and access resources for food, housing, and other critical needs.

Since the start of COVID-19, the Senator and her staff members have contacted more than 30,000 individuals and more than 200 small businesses to determine how the Senator’s office could best support them during these difficult times.

We at Care & Comfort at Home are very grateful for the Senator’s visit and equally thankful for the generous donation. Thank you, Senator Pettersen!
