Are you caring for a veteran of the United States armed forces? If so, assistance is just a phone call away, thanks to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (also referred to as the “VA”).
The VA offers many services that can help provide care for veterans, and you can learn much more about those services by reading our article on benefits for veterans (click HERE to read more), and also by visiting our page that explains how Care & Comfort at Home help for veterans (click HERE to learn more).
But the VA also offers services for the caregiver of a veteran. One of those services is the VA’s Caregiver Support Line — a toll-free phone number that can be used to learn more information and gain the support that caregivers so often need.
By calling 1-855-260-3274, caregivers of veterans are put in touch with licensed caring professionals who can:
- Provide information about assistance available from VA.
- Help with access to veteran services and benefits.
- Connect caregivers with a local family “Caregiver Support Coordinator” at a nearest VA medical center.
- Just listen, if that’s what the caregiver needs at that moment.
The sole purpose of the support line is to help caregivers of veterans — whether you are the wife or husband, mother or father, sister or brother, daughter or son, or loving family member or friend. It’s important to know caregiver deserve support and are often eligible for assistance as well. You can also learn more about other ways the VA supports the caregivers of veterans by clicking HERE.
