Venturing out this winter for fun in Chicago
No matter your age, there are always interesting things to do in the city of Chicago. If you aren’t bothered by cold weather, here are some ways to venture out and have some fun!
Head over to the Art Institute of Chicago for their celebration of the Chinese New Year (the year of the Rooster) with special installations, events, and culinary delights. It’s all there waiting for you from now until February 11.
We’ve all heard about the smashing success of the musical Hamilton. Now you can delve into its background at the Newberry Library via their current exhibit “Hamilton: The History Behind the Musical.” The life and times of our former President are richly documented here until March 9.
The Pritzker Military Museum & Library’s exhibit, Hunting Charlie: Finding the Enemy in the Vietnam War, uses rarely seen, original art pieces to explore its topic. This special exhibit will be there all winter.
If you’d like to veer off the museum path, why not get a close-up interactive magic show? Check out The Magic Parlour show, running Friday and Saturday evenings at The Palmer House Hilton hotel.
If going out for a bite tickles your fancy, on January 24, Savor Lincoln Park is a one-of-a-kind celebration of food and the Lincoln Park community, featuring cuisine from some of Lincoln Park’s finest restaurants.
Don’t let the winter chill keep you from going out to enjoy all the city has to offer. Wonderful experiences await us all — even if we have to bundle up!
